Harrison Art Services was founded in 1994 when David Harrison took over and expanded his father Alex’s restoration studio to include services like framing, installation, delivery and art storage, as well as art restoration and conservation offerings.
In 1962 Alexander Harrison, an English immigrant who studied conservation at Frost & Reed, had begun a restoration practice in his new home of Vancouver. When David was eight years old, Alexander began teaching him the craft of art restoration. This lead David to a mentorship with alumni from The Courtauld Institute of Art, an internationally renowned centre for the teaching and research of art history and conservation, and home to one of the greatest art collections in the UK.
Today the company partners with galleries, interior designers and private collectors to provide a wide range of needs, as well as insurance companies to repair art that has been damaged by fire and flood. Harrison Art Services is proud to be a part of Vancouver’s vibrant arts community.
